A REVIVAL

"Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?"

Psalms 85:6

Pastor William P. Mackay wrote the hymn "Revive Us Again".  We sing these words but it is impossible to be revived if we have never had an awakening.  "Revive us again; Fill each heart with Thy love; May each soul be rekindled With fire from above."

Instead of praying for a revival, we need to pray for an awakening.  If you have never given your heart and life to Jesus, then you have never had real happiness.  What does it mean to be happy?  We sing about happiness in this hymn "Happiness Is The Lord".

This inspiring hymn tells us how we can be happy.  "Happiness is to know the Savior Living a life within His favor Having a change in my behavior Happiness is the Lord!"

If we want to be happy, we need to do things and say things that make Him happy.  Someone emailed me several years ago and wrote "Is is okay for me to watch this movie?"  I replied and wrote "If you would watch it with Jesus sitting beside you, it is okay to watch it.  If Jesus wouldn't watch it, then it is not okay."

How can we know if it won't hurt Jesus and is okay to do something?  We read the answer in the Bible.  "Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God" (1 John 3:21).

May God help us to live a life that doesn't hurt our precious Saviour.  Jesus gave His life for us so we should do things, go places and say things that makes Him happy.  Making Jesus happy should be our heart's desire.  Are you making Jesus happy by the things you do and the words you say?
