 HE DIED FOR US

"And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost."

Luke 23:46
King James Version

Several years ago when I lived in Texas the assistant pastor allowed them to put him on a cross during the Easter season to show us how much Jesus loves us.

When I saw that pastor on the cross, I couldn't watch. I had to get up and leave church. Even today, Jesus is being abused, scorned, ridiculed and rejected. How this must hurt Him to know that some people still don't love Him.

The Sunday school teacher I had in Texas lived in a big home and her husband took the doors off one of their rooms. He built a large cross out of wood they had and carried it into their recreation room.

My Sunday School teacher who was also my doctor, gave us a pen and paper and told us to write down everything we had done that hurt Jesus.

It breaks my heart to admit this but I had to ask her for more paper because I had hurt so many people. I had already asked Jesus to save me but that day, I asked Him to take control of my life and help me live for Him.

Teachers, I would encourage you to do the same thing with your class. It will draw them closer to Jesus and it will also make Him happy when they give their heart, their life and everything they have to Him.

We may think that what we say and do doesn't hurt others but it does. May God have mercy on us and forgive us if we are hurting His beloved Son.

Jesus, I love You more than I can ever tell You but You see into my heart and You know that I love You. Thank You for all You have done for me.

Especially, thank You for never leaving me or hurting me. One happy and joyous day I will have the privilege of seeing You face to face.
