 ARE WE DOING IT

"O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles."

Psalms 43:3
King James Version

Charles Hutchinson Gabriel wrote a hymn that should challenge all of us to serve Jesus "SEND THE LIGHT". I wonder if we are doing it. Are we sending the light of Jesus?

"There’s a call comes ringing over the restless wave, Send the light! Send the light! There are souls to rescue, there are souls to save, Send the light! Send the light!

Send the light, the blessèd Gospel light; Let it shine from shore to shore! Send the light, the blessèd Gospel light; Let it shine forevermore!

We have heard the Macedonian call today, Send the light! Send the light! And a golden offering at the cross we lay, Send the light! Send the light!

Let us pray that grace may everywhere abound, Send the light! Send the light! And a Christlike spirit everywhere be found, Send the light! Send the light!

Let us not grow weary in the work of love, Send the light! Send the light! Let us gather jewels for a crown above, Send the light! Send the light!"

Before we can send the light about Jesus, we must first be sure that our heart is right before Him. Elisha Albright Hoffman wrote a hymn that asks a question that all of us has to answer "IS THY HEART RIGHT WITH GOD?"

"Have thy affections been nailed to the cross? Is thy heart right with God? Dost thou count all things for Jesus but loss? Is thy heart right with God?

Is thy heart right with God, Washed in the crimson flood, Cleansed and made holy, humble and lowly, Right in the sight of God?
Hast thou dominion o’er self and o’er sin? Is thy heart right with God? Over all evil without and within? Is thy heart right with God?
Is there no more condemnation for sin? Is thy heart right with God? Does Jesus rule in the temple within? Is thy heart right with God?

Are all thy pow’rs under Jesus’ control? Is thy heart right with God? Does He each moment abide in thy soul? Is thy heart right with God?"

We can say ahything but Jesus can see in our heart and He knows if our heart is right with God. Before we can spread the good news of our risen Saviour, we must first be sure there is nothing in our heart that hurts God and breaks His heart.

May God help us to lead others to Jesus by our kind and loving words. Heavenly Father, please search my heart and if there is anything that hurts You, I'm sorry. Please forgive me and help me be a shining light for You as I tell others of our precious risen Saviour.
