HE STRENGTHENS US

“Hast thou not known?  hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary?  there is no searching of his understanding.  He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.  Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:  But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
Isaiah 40:28-31 KJV

I am so glad that God strengthens us because I feel like going to bed and staying there.  I have had this flu or whatever it is that I have for over a week and my body is weak and tired.  However, every time I think about going to bed and staying there until I feel better, I remember what Jesus did for me on the cross.

Jesus had been beaten beyond recognition.  He had been spat on, cursed, mocked and ridiculed for us yet He still walked that long lonely road to Calvary to be crucified for our sins.  There is no greater love than the love that our Heavenly Father and Jesus have for us.  They love us unconditionally.

When we feel like giving up, we need to remember the cross.  Jesus didn’t give up.  He fulfilled the mission His Father had given Him.  May God help us to fulfill the mission that God entrusts to each of us.  We may not be called to be a foreign missionary but all of us are called to spread the love of Jesus.

Thank You, Heavenly Father, for Jesus.  Thank You, Jesus, for loving us so much You stayed on the cross when You could have come down.  I love You, Heavenly Father.  I love You, Jesus.  I love You, Holy Spirit.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.
