ADOPTED

“When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.”

Psalms 27:10
King James Version

Our verse for this devotion has been a comfort to me many times.  For many years I believed my Mom and Dad didn’t love me and didn’t want me.  I know now that wasn’t true but when I was going through all those doubts and confusion, this verse touched my heart and kept me going.

Fanny Crosby wrote a beautiful inspiring hymn “Adopted”.  I love these words.  “O what a blessing, how can I express it? Out of the fullness of rapture I sing, Now by the Father received and adopted, I am a child and an heir of a king.”  What a privilege to be part of the family of God.

Harriet E. Buell wrote “A Child of the King”.  “I once was an outcast stranger on earth, A sinner by choice, an alien by birth, But I’ve been adopted, my name’s written down,  An heir to a mansion, a robe and a crown.”  Is your name written down in the book of life?  Have you confessed your sins and invited Jesus in your heart to be your personal Saviour?

We read in the Bible.  “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:15).  If you have never invited Jesus into your heart to be your personal Saviour, I urge you, I plead with you to invite Him into your heart today before it is too late.  One day it will be too late to invite Him into your heart.  Don’t miss out on spending eternity with the One Who loves you so much He died for you.

“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me” (Revelation 3:20).  Inviting Jesus into your heart is the most important decision you will ever make.  It is more important than who you marry, where you live, what job you have or anything else.  Open the door of your heart to Jesus today.  He loves you so much He died for you.
