 JESUS STILL LOVES US

"The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee."

Jeremiah 31:3
King James Version

The statement was made "How can this person expect me to be kind and loving after what this person said and did to me"? The question we need to ask is how can I expect Jesus to love me after the way I have acted and the things I have said to others that have hurt Him?

We need to remember that when we hurt others, we are hurting Jesus. We read in the Bible. "And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." Matthew 25:40.

Remember, when we hurt Jesus, we are also hurting our Heavenly Father. God loves His Son and it hurts Him when we hurt Jesus. We read in the Bible how much God loves His Son.

"And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." Matthew 3:16 17.

What does God see when He looks in your heart? Do the things in your heart make Him happy or do they hurt Him and break His heart? May God have mercy on us if we are hurting Him and His beloved Son.
