JESUS WAS UPSET

"And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them. But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.'"

Karyn Henley and Randall Dennis wrote a beautiful hymn about Jesus and children "Jesus Loves the Little Children".

"Jesus loves the little children All the children of the world Red and yellow, black and white They are precious in His sight Jesus loves the little children of the world.

Jesus loves children. Do we love children? Several years ago in one of my devotions I wrote about children. Someone who was on my mailing list for my devotions emailed me and asked me not to send any more devotions because she didn't have anything to do with children. How that must have hurt Jesus and broke His heart.

May God have mercy on us if we are hurting His children because of the way we treat them. A young boy knocked on my door and said "I'm hungry. Do you have any food I can eat?"

The boy told me that his parents were always yelling at each other and at his sisters and brothers and at him. He said "I'm afraid to go home. My brothers and sisters and me run and hide when we hear our parents yelling at each other.

One day these parents will stand before a Holy God and give an account of the way they treated their children and His beloved Son, Jesus. Our Saviour has told us that when we hurt others, we also hurt Him. It is time that we stop hurting Jesus and start loving Him. I love You, dear Jesus. Thank You for dying for me.
