GOD’S LOVE LETTER

“The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.”

Isaiah 40:8 KJV

Have you ever gone to the mailbox expecting to get a letter but it wasn’t there?  You were disappointed because you had been waiting for a long time.  There is good news.  God’s love letter, the Bible, we can read anytime day or night.  It is very important that we read the Bible.  

Pastor John H. Yates wrote the hymn “The Old Book Stands”.  I love the words in this heart touching hymn.  “In this precious Book is the dear old story told, Of the Savior and His love; And with joy we read of the streets of purest gold, The Jerusalem above.”  Are you reading the Bible?

We read in the Bible “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee” (Psalms 119:11).  Another reason to read the Bible is because it makes God happy.  It should be the heart’s desire of every Christian to make God happy.  He has done so much for us.

It is not enough to read the Bible.  We must do what the Bible tells us to do.  Can we honestly say we always love one another unconditionally as Jesus has commanded us to love?  May God help us to read our Bible and put into practice what we read.  Let’s start loving and encouraging each other.
