 DON'T FORGET JESUS

"And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left. Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots."

Luke 23:33, 34
King James Version

When we are remembering the brave men and women who gave their lives for their county, let us also remember Jesus Who gave His life for every person in the world.

I had the privilege to hear my last pastor preaching on the television this aftern00n. As I listened to him preach, it remeind me of the mission trip I took several years ago when I lived in Texas.

The pastor sent us on the mission trip and we went from church to church telling others about the Love of Jesus to raise money to go.

The day we went on the mission trip to Arizona the pastor prayed for our protection and for us to win souls to Jesus.

I was so excited to be part of the mission trip. However, on the night of our first night there I went to the mission leader's room and asked him what time we had devotions.

He replied and said "We are too busy and too tired to have devotions". As soon as he said that, I called the pastor who had sent us on the mission trip and told him what the mission leader had saif about having devotions.

The pastor replied "The church will send you the money to come home because the reason the church raised all that money and sent you on the mission trip is because we wanted to to tell people about Jesus."

I submit to you on the authority of the Word of God that there is nobody or nothing as important as spreading the good news of our risend Saviour.

Many years ago as I was going door to door on visitation night for my church, I went to this house. It was a big and beautiful house. I asked the lady "If you knew God was telling you to sell your house and give the money to missions, would you do it?"

The lady didn't hesitate, she said "No,  I wouldn't. I've worked hard and long for everything I have and it is mine."

How that must have hurt Jesus and broke His heart. May God have mercy on us and forgive us if we hurt His beloved Son.
God may never ask us to do something that requires a sacrifice but if He does are we willing to do it?

When Jesus left His Father, His home and all that He had to come to earth and die on the cross for our sins, God didn't make Him come. Jesus came because He loves His Father and He loves us.

I have said this many times and as a preacher once said when he was asked why he kept preachng the same thing, the preacher replied, "I'm going to keep preaching it until you get it".

Have you got it yet? Have you allowed it to go from head knowledge to heart knowledge that Jesus loves you so much that He allowed them to spit on Him, curse Him, mock Him and crucify Him on the cross for somehting He had not done?

We know Jesus loves us. He proved His unconditional love for us when He died on the cross for us. What are we doing to prove to Him that we love Him? One day we will stand beore our Heavenly Father and give an account of how we treated His Son. Will we be able to look Him in the eyes or will we have to hang our head in shame because we hurt His beloved Son?
