WE LOVE YOU

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

John 3:16
King James Version

I emailed my best friend and told her I wasn’t feeling well.  Judye emailed me back and wrote “We love you”.  I immediately started feeling better.  That is what God said to us when He gave His Son to die for our sins.  That is what Jesus said to us when He allowed them to crucify Him for our sins.  We love you is the heart of the gospel.

Robert Harkness wrote the heart touching hymn “Why Should He Love Me So?”  Every time I read these words or hear them, my heart breaks for the pain and agony that Jesus suffered on the cross for me.  “Nails pierced His hands and His feet  Why should He love me so?  He suffered sore my salvation to win  Why should He love me so?”

I believe that every time they pounded a nail in His hands that He felt that unbearable pain in His heart.  What kind of love is this?  This is an unconditional and forgiving love that comes from the heart of our Heavenly Father and from our Saviour.  If you are reading this devotion, know that They will always love you.

Evangelist Gordon Jenson wrote a hymn that always brings tears to my eyes “Written in Red”.  “In letters of crimson God wrote His love On a hillside so long, long ago  For you and for me Jesus died  And love's greatest story was told”  This is what real love is, a giving sacrificial love.  A teenage girl said “My boyfriend said “If you love me, you’ll have sex with me”.  Sex is not love.  Love, real love, unconditional love comes from the heart.

Heavenly Father, I pray for every person who reads this devotion.  Please speak to their heart and let them grasp in their heart how much they are loved.  Thank You for all You have done for me.  I love You so much and I appreciate all You have done for me.  Thank You for loving me unconditionally and for the privilege You have given me to serve Jesus.  Please comfort and encourage all who are discouraged.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.
