FOR US

“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”

Isaiah 53:5
King James Version

Pastor Thomas Dennis wrote a beautiful hymn about our precious Saviour “The Broken Heart”  The words in this hymn are so true.  “Have you read the story of the cross, Where Jesus bled and died, Where your debt was paid by the precious blood That flowed from His wounded side He died of a broken heart for you, He died of a broken heart; Oh, wondrous love! for you, for me, He died of a broken heart.”

The heart of Jesus was broken on the cross for you and for me and today His heart is still being broken when He sees the things we do and hear the things we say to one another. It’s time that we stop hurting Jesus and love one another unconditionally as He has commanded us to love one another.  If you have hatred and unforgiveness in your heart, you are hurting Jesus and breaking His heart.

Heavenly Father, please forgive me for the times I allowed hatred, resentment and unforgiveness to remain in my heart.  Thank You for loving us even when we hurt You because we don’t forgive one another.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.
