WHY DO WE CRY

Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.  When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled, And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see.  Jesus wept.  Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!”

John 11:33-36
King James Version

Why do we cry when our loved ones die if we know they are going to Heaven?  Why did Jesus cry?  Jesus cried and we cry because we love our relatives and loved ones who have died.  We know we are going to see them again..  We just miss them and so we cry.

When my Mother died, some people told me that a Christian is not supposed to cry when someone dies so I didn’t cry.  I guess those people never read about Jesus crying because He loved Lazarus.

Instead of asking people why they are crying when a loved one dies, we should be praying for them, comforting them and encouraging them.  When Jesus was crucified on the cross for your sins and for my sins, God had to turn away from His Son because Jesus had taken our sins on Him and God is Holy and He can’t look on sin so when Jesus died He was all alone.

I don’t think it has entered our heart how much Jesus loves us.  We sing hymns about Jesus loving us and we say we know He loves us but we only have a fingernail’s grasp of how much He loves us.  Jesus left His home, His Father and all that He had to come to earth and die for our sins on the cross so we may be saved and go to Heaven when we die.

What kind of love is this?  It is a giving compassionate and unconditional love for you and for me that can only come from the heart of our loving Heavenly Father and from our precious Saviour.  If you have never invited Jesus into your heart to be your personal Saviour, I urge you to do it now before it is too late.

One day it will be to late to say yes to Jesus. Open the door of your heart and let Him come in to be your personal Saviour.  You will have joy and a happiness you have never known and He will never leave you, not even for one minute.

Please lift your voices and hands and join me in praising the “KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS”.  Worthy is the Lamb of God!  All hail, King Jesus!  Do something kind for someone today and hug someone for Jesus. It will make our precious Saviour happy.  If ever someone deserves to be praised and adored, it is Jesus!

O how I love Jesus.  He is the reason I’m living, the reason I get out of bed in the morning and the Joy of my heart and one happy day I am going to have the privilege of seeing Him face to face.  Are you going to see Him face to face?
