BE KIND TO ONE ANOTHER

"Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."

Ephesians 4:31, 32
King James Version

If ever someone had a right to be bitter and angry and refuse to forgive, it is Jesus. He was beaten beyond recognition, spat on, cursed, mocked, humiliated and left alone to die on the cross for something He didn't do. If Jesus could forgive you and me for doing all those terrible things to Him, how dare you and I refuse to forgive the ones who hurt us.

The Bible instructs us to be kind to one another and that means even when people hurt us. It doesn't matter if they hurt us on purpose, we still need to forgive them just as Jesus forgives us when we hurt Him. When Jesus comes back for us, will we be able to look Him in the eye or will we have to hang our head in shame because we refused to forgive those who hurt us?
