JESUS INTERCEDES FOR US

"Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them."

Hebrews 7:25
King James Version

As I listened to the Speer family sing "AND HE’S EVER INTERCEDING" on a Bill Gaither program, I was reminded of how much Jesus loves you and me. When we do things we shouldn't do and say things we shouldn't say, Jesus intercedes for us with God. The greatest prayer Jesus prayed for us was on the cross.

We read in the Bible "And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left. Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots" (Luke 23:33, 34).

Our precious Saviour had been beaten beyond recognition, cursed, mocked, ridiculed and spit on and as He hung there on the cross for something He hadn't done with the blood flowing down His body, He asked His Father to forgive us. What kind of love is this that He would ask God to forgive us while He was in such pain? This is an amazing unconditional love that could only come from the heart of our precious Saviour.

O how Jesus loves you. There is nothing you could ever do that would make Him stop loving you. His love for you is unconditional and unending. He loved you yesterday. He loves you today and He will love you forever. What a Saviour! What a Friend, this Jesus of Nazareth! O how I love Jesus and one day I will see Him face to face.
