WHAT AN AMAZING LOVE

"And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose."

Mark 1:7
King James Version

Pastor Ira Stanphill wrote one of my favorite hymns "Unworthy". "Unworthy am I of the grace that He gave, Unworthy to hold to His hand; Amazed that a King would reach down to a slave, This love I cannot understand. Unworthy, unworthy, a beggar; In bondage and alone, But He made me worthy and now by His grace, His mercy has made me His own."

We read in the Bible "And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose" (Mark 1:7). We aren't worthy to even stoop down and unloose our precious Saviour's shoes yet He willingly walked that long lonely road to Calvary and there allowed them to crucify Him for your sins and for my sins.

Another one of my favorite and loved hymns that Robert Harkness wrote is "Why Should He Love Me So?" Every time I read these words or hear them sung, I am amazed that Jesus loves us so much. "Nails pierced His hands and His feet for my sin; Why should He love me so? He suffered sore my salvation to win: Why should He love me so?"

Why should Jesus loves us so? It is because not only does Jesus give us love, unconditional and unending love, He is love. If someone asks you who Jesus is, tell that person that Jesus is love, amazing and unconditional love. O how I love Jesus and one happy day I am going to have the privilege of seeing Him face to face. Are you shouting with happiness yet?
