 HE GIVES US REST

"Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses. He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still. Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven. Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!"

Psalms 107:28-30
King James Version

Henry L. Gilmour wrote one of my favorite hymns "THE HAVEN OF REST". " My soul in sad exile was out on life’s sea, So burdened with sin and distressed, Till I heard a sweet voice, saying, Make Me your choice; And I entered the Haven of Rest! I’ve anchored my soul in the Haven of Rest, I’ll sail the wide seas no more; The tempest may sweep over wild, stormy, deep, In Jesus I’m safe evermore."

Heavenly Father, thank You for giving Jesus to us, our Haven of rest. Jesus, what a healing balm it is to our weary and battle scarred heart to know that we have rest and peace in Your loving arms.

Heavenly Father, I pray for all who are lonely, discouraged, broken hearted and for those who feel like giving up. Please comfort and encourage them as You have done for me so many times. We love You and appreciate You. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
