ARE WE SINGING

“Praise ye the LORD. Praise the LORD, O my soul.  While I live will I praise the LORD: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.”
Psalms 146:1,2 KJV

Civilla D. Martin wrote a beautiful hymn “Wonderful Love”.  “In love He redeemed me and made me His own, An heir to His glory, His kingdom and throne; Now anthems of joy to His Name I will sing, Adoring my Savior, my Lord and my King.”  Are we singing to Jesus and praising Him?

Charles H. Gabriel wrote “In Lovingkindness Jesus Came”.  “His brow was pierced with many a thorn, His hands by cruel nails were torn, When from my guilt and grief, forlorn, In love He lifted me.”  Our compassionate and loving Saviour allowed them to crucify Him for you and for me because He loves us so much.

Someone said “I didn’t feel any joy for many years.”  I submit to you on the authority of the Word of God that it is impossible to be in the presence of Jesus and not be happy.  “Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore ” (Psalms 16:11).

We can’t be happy all the time.  However, if we will stay in the presence of Jesus we will not have as many heartaches and problems.  Jesus said “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).

Making Jesus happy should be the desire of every Christian.  Jesus should have first place in our heart, in our life and in everything we do.  Does He have first place in your heart?
