THERE’S STILL ROOM

“And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.”
Colossians 1:20 KJV

Pastor Ira Stanphill wrote one of my favorite hymns “Room at the Cross.”  I’m so glad the words in this beautiful hymn are true.  “There's room at the cross for you There's room at the cross for you Though millions have come, there's still room for one Yes there's room at the cross for you.”

Not only is there room at the cross for you, there is enough room for you to sit on the lap of our Heavenly Father.  I have lost track of the many times when He has picked me up, told me He loves me and encouraged and comforted me.  What a precious tender and compassionate Heavenly Father!
“Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God” (2 Corinthians 1:3,4).
Yes, our Heavenly Father comforts us and we are to comfort others.  We comfort them by letting them know that Jesus loves them so much He died for them.  There are many people who are lonely, hurting, brokenhearted and feel like giving up and going to bed and staying there and even people who are suicidal.
I know this is true because I felt that way for years.  We need to get out of our comfort zone just as Jesus got out of His and let others know they are loved by our kind words and actions.
