Our Precious Lamp

“For thou art my lamp, O Lord: and the Lord will lighten my darkness."
2 Samuel 22:29 KJV

For many years I was in total darkness in my heart, in my mind, and in my life.  Life was meaningless.  I wasn’t living; I just existed.  I hated everyone and I certainly didn’t trust anybody.  I thought everyone was out to get me and that I didn’t have a right to live.

One day out of His loving mercy and grace, my precious lamp, Jesus, reached down His hand to me and pulled me up out of the darkness of a crippling depression.  He told me that He loves me and sat me on His lap of love and I’ve never been the same.  None of us deserve His love.

His love is unconditional.  We can’t do anything to deserve His love.  It is freely given and we are to love others like He loves us.  There are many people who are hurting and broken hearted and they look fine and they talk like nothing is wrong, but inside they are dying.

It is so important that we are kind and loving to one another instead of being judgmental and critical.  The harsh words that we say may be the trigger that pulls a gun and causes someone to take his or her life. Love, unconditional love, is the greatest gift you could ever give anybody.  The love of Jesus that you extend to others will last forever.

If you are hurting today, reach up and take hold of the Master’s hand.  He is the only One Who can set you free from a life of pain and desperation.  Don’t wait any longer; you are not alone.  Jesus is holding His hand out to you.
