THE GREATEST CAREGIVER

“When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled, And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see. Jesus wept.   Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!”
John 11:33-35 KJV

Gail, the nurse that comes to my home to take care of me is a wonderful caregiver.  She makes me laugh and makes me feel that my needs are important to her.  She ministers to my heart before she checks my blood pressure.  I am so thankful for her and it will break my heart when she stops coming to see me.

I thank God for Gail but she will have to stop coming to see me when my doctor thinks she doesn’t need to come anymore.  However, the greatest Caregiver of all, Jesus, will always be with me.  He cheers me and encourages me every day.  Jesus is the greatest Cheerleader of all and we should be cheering for Him.

Doctors can do open heart surgery and that is wonderful.  Thank God for doctors who care but only Jesus, the great Physician, can heal a broken heart.  William Hunter wrote a beautiful hymn about our Saviour “The great Physician now is here.”  I love the words in this heart touching and inspiring hymn.

“The great Physician now is near, the sympathizing Jesus; He speaks the drooping heart to cheer, oh! hear the voice of Jesus.”  If you are hurting and discouraged, tell Jesus.  He will pick you up and carry you until the pain goes away.  What a Saviour!  What a Friend, this Jesus of Nazareth!
