DO WE

“And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.”
Deuteronomy 6:5 KJV

We say we love the LORD our God but do we love Him?  Are we just giving Him lip service or do we love Him from the depths of our heart?  If we really love Him, then our actions will prove our love for Him.  Words are meaningless unless we do things to make Him happy.  Our Heavenly Father deserves to be happy.

When someone says or does something kind to our children, it makes us very happy.  It is the same with God.  It makes Him very happy when we are kind and loving to His beloved Son, Jesus.  However, it breaks God’s heart when we hurt Jesus.  God loves His Son very much.

For some people, Jesus has been knocking on the door of their heart for many years but they have refused to open the door of their heart and allow Him to come in and let Him be their personal Saviour.  That hurts God and makes Him sad.  I believe it also makes Him angry to see the way His Son is treated.

John W. Peterson wrote the hymn “No Room”  The words in this hymn break my heart because it is really true that people keep rejecting Jesus even after all He has done for us.  “No room here in the hearts of mankind.” When will we make room for Jesus, not only in our heart but also in our life?

Heavenly Father, please forgive us for hurting Jesus because not only are we hurting Him, we are also hurting You.  I pray that all of us will put Jesus first in our heart, in our time, in our life and in everything we do and say.  Jesus, thank You for loving us unconditionally.  I love You.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.
