ARE WE PRAYING FOR THEM

“But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.”
Luke 6:27,28 KJV

I don’t know about you but I have to be honest and tell you when someone says or does something to hurt me that I want to hurt them.  I have asked God to forgive me and help me to love unconditionally as Jesus has commanded us to love.  “This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you” (John 15:12).

Before you judge and condemn me, search your own heart.  Can you honestly say that you always love unconditionally?  Of course, you can’t because there was only one perfect person who ever lived or ever will live and His name is Jesus.  He loves us no matter what we do or say even when we hurt Him.

We read in the Bible.  “When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?  She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more” (John 8:10,11).

Jesus doesn’t condemn us, He loves us.  May God help us to love others unconditionally as Jesus loves us.  We want people to forgive us when we hurt them so we had better forgive them when they hurt us.  How dare you and I go to God and ask Him to forgive us if we aren’t willing to forgive those who hurt us.
