HIS AMAZING LOVE AND GRACE

“When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.”
John 19:30 KJV

Lelia N. Morris wrote a beautiful hymn “Sweeter as the Years Go By”.  “’Twas wondrous love which led Him For us to suffer loss, To bear without a murmur The anguish of the cross; With saints redeemed in glory, Let us our voices raise, Till Heav’n and earth re-echo With our Redeemer’s praise.”

The amazing, unending and unconditional love that Jesus has for us is sweeter as the years go by.  There is nothing you could ever do that would make Jesus stop loving you.  Think about it.  Even while hanging on the cross with the blood flowing down His body, He asked God to forgive us.

We read in the Bible.  “Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots” (Luke 23:34).  Many times when people hurt us, we get angry and want to say or do something to hurt them.  We need to follow the example that Jesus set for us and forgive them.

How dare you and I ask our loving Heavenly Father to forgive us for hurting Him if we’re not willing to forgive those who hurt us?  We need to remember that nobody is perfect.  There was only one perfect person who ever lived or ever will live and His Name is Jesus.  May God help us to forgive as Jesus forgave us.

Heavenly Father, help us to love one another unconditionally as Jesus has commanded us to love.  Thank You for loving us so much You gave Your beloved Son to die for our sins.  Thank You for adopting me into Your family.  I love You, Heavenly Father.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.
