THE LIGHTHOUSE OF LOVE

“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
John 8:12 KJV

Ronnie Hinson wrote the beautiful hymn “The Lighthouse”.  “And I thank God for the Lighthouse I owe my life to Him For Jesus is the Lighthouse And from the rocks of sin He has shown a light around me That I could clearly see If it wasn't for the Lighthouse (tell me) Where would this ship be?”

Yes, Jesus is the Lighthouse of Love and He proved how much He loves us when He willingly walked that long lonely road to Calvary and allowed them to crucify Him.  I have said this many times and I will keep saying it until God calls me home.  Nobody loves you like Jesus loves you and nobody ever will.

Evangelist Gordon Jensen wrote one of my favorite hymns “I Should Have Been Crucified”.  The words in this hymn are true.  “Crown of thorns, the spear in His side, And all the pain should have been mine. Those rusty nails were meant for me, But Jesus took them, and let me go free!”  What love He has for us.

Marvin P Dalton wrote a hymn that always brings tears to my eyes to think that Jesus suffered all that pain and agony for me.   “O what a Savior, O hallelujah! His heart was broken on Calvary, His hands were nail scarred, His side was riven, He gave His life-blood for even me.” Yes, Jesus died for you and He died for me.

Heavenly Father, thank You for loving us so much You gave Your beloved Son to die for our sins.  Jesus, how I love You.  Thank You for dying for my sins.  You are the Joy of my heart.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.
