WINGS OF PROTECTION

“Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,”

Psalms 17:8 KJV

Pastor William O. Cushing wrote a beautiful hymn “Under His Wings”.  “Under His wings I am safely abiding, Though the night deepens and tempests are wild, Still I can trust Him; I know He will keep me, He has redeemed me, and I am His child.”  I’m so glad the words in this hymn are true.

It doesn’t matter how many dark valleys and crises we have in our life, we are safe under His wings.  Not only are we safe under His wings, Jesus is faithful to pick us up in His loving arms and carry us through all the dark valleys until the pain goes away and He will set us once again on the mountain top of happiness.

I’ve lost track of the many times when satan attacked me with doubts and I was tempted to stop writing devotions and go to bed and stay there.  However, Jesus was faithful and He lifted me up and helped me.  The greatest cheerleader we will ever have is Jesus.  He cheers us on to victory every time.

If you are going through a dark valley, Jesus will help you.  We can always depend on Jesus to keep His Word.  “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee” (Hebrews 13:5).  What a faithful Saviour!
